EAT: SMOOTHIES

How we nourish ourselves every day impacts our brains, gut, hormones and microbiome (the bacteria that live within us). We strive to find realistic ways to eat that make us healthy, happy, and connected to our values.

We both have a different style of eating, but have the same value in making our meals delicious, healthy and fun! Smoothies a tasty way to pack in some nutrition in a quick meal. Here are our recipes for some inspiration!

Dr. Fi’s Deluxe Green Smoothie

  • A few handfuls of kale

  • 1 banana

  • half zucchini

  • two stalks celery

  • half cup blueberries

  • two tbsp flax seeds

  • two tbsp of hemp hearts

  • a big scoop mixed nut butter

  • half avocado (frozen)

  • Water

  • Blend up and enjoy!

Dr. Mad’s Berry Bonanza

  • A hearty shake of frozen berries

  • 1 banana

  • 1 scoop genuine health vanilla whey protein (or some other protein, but this one is my favourite)

  • 2ish scoops of of flax

  • a good shake of spinach and frozen kale

  • a scoop of almond butter, a dash of cinnamon

  • optional: quarter of an avocado if it’s hiding in the kitchen.

  • Add water and blend up!

  • I don’t usually measure so sometimes end up with enough for 2 smoothies. Put on in the fridge, shake up and save yourself 15 minutes tomorrow!
